I'm meeting with Abner, one of Ross' programming friends/ex-coworker Friday to discuss the new store.

We sat down over a month ago to go over initial framework using Stampers mock-ups, and shortly after I mocked up some HTML pages for him to implement. But we haven't spoken since then so I'm really curious to see if he made tons of headway on his own or if I still have some work to do.

All the indices and individual pages were done, and the back-end functional stuff doesn't have to be terribly pretty so I'm thinking positively. We still have to deliver the cart page to him and there's a bit of CSS stuff to work out where shipping labels are concerned. There is also the issue of how powerful this store will be, like order tracking and account crediting in the Userpages; all that stuff has to be discussed, developed, and tested so it could take a while.

It's a shame, too, since we have some absolutely mouthwatering stuff to announce.

Great to hear you guys are working on it. I always thought the store was kinda pathetic, no offense. Since I bought everything you happened to have at comic con i cant wait to see the new stuff.

LOL, then you saw most of it. There should still be a few surprises though.

About the store being pathetic, we know. It was important just to throw something up there to see what kind of demand there was. Now we know there are enough people to make it worth all the time and effort we put into it.

I'm looking foward to seeing the new Newgrounds Store. Will you be offering a feature to where a member can make t-shirts, stickers, etc. with their own original work except for copyrighted material? What are the other back-end languages will the store be using besides CSS (I'm a web programmer myself and just curious to know)? Thanks for keeping us up-to-date!

It'll be programmed like the rest of the site, whatever that is. It's all magic to me once I hand off the HTML to the programmers. As for those nifty ideas you mentioned, for now we're just working on a simple shop where people can order stuff we have. The fanciest we get for now will probably be a Userpage store shelf where you can display your purchases, but in the future (read: after bugs are fixed and currently disabled features are made available) the sky's the limit!
